Traveling Library of Synthesizers
part of the Cornell University architectural studio design course "Library of Illusions" led by Rubén Alcolea

An initial design exercise led me to the creation of upside-down goggles. Walking around campus and buildings, the thought of occupying ceilings or seeing them as a void underneath me, became one of the major starting points for the conception of an occupiable vessel with an internal upside-down void. The discovery of a collection of synthesizers in the Cornell library's annex further informed the idea of a floating library of synthesizers that acts as a mobile vault for rare and precious electronic musical instruments. Venice, London, New York City, San Francisco… the idea of a floating library of synthesizers is comparable to that of a travelling theater or circus, allowing it to become a short-term hub of culture wherever it docks.
